Dpr....full of creepers

From the south suburbs to the northwest suburbs, the Des Plaines River provides some excellent fishing opportunities.

Dpr....full of creepers

Postby bassman29 » Apr Wed 19, 2017 7:39 pm

Half hr shore session after work.

Ran into my first dpr largemouth of the year. Also got a pic of a dpr creeper out of his natural kayak Jon boat environment. If you see this guy don't take him up on his offer to show you his "honey hole".

I've seen that guy on the river before....I usually spin the yak around and paddle the other way for starters. Next I open my pocket knife, then I'm ready to hit my speed dial for 911.

over in my neck of the woods. inch deep water and fishermen pressure make that spot tough in the summer. i have a history with a giant sea monster of a pike that nestles itself between a log jam on the westerly side of that bridge

Wait - I don't get it...
Keep calm and fish on...

There's a fine line between fishing and just sitting there looking stupid

Hes somewhat of a dpr myth. Many tales of him going back generations.
Some say he lives along the dpr banks foraging on discarded gene n Jude's wrappers.

Another rumor is under his glasses he has lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a pikes eyes.

Was told by my grandfather that if you stand close to the dpr and listen ever so closely to the moving water you can hear the mating call of this forest beast which resembles 2 spinner baits clinging together.
