The goons 4/18/17

Postby joetrain » Apr Tue 18, 2017 5:37 pm

I spent almost 4 hours at the goons today. Battled the wind but still had a productive outing. I landed 9 bass. They were in the 6-15 inch range with most being right around 12 inches. I lost one other one which would have been the largest but of course it came unbuttoned. So nothing big but avoided the skunk.

A white swimbait on a weighted hook did the damage. I tried cranks , jigs and spinnerbaits but kept going back to the swimbait.

The fish were all out away from the downed trees in the emerging weeds. I think if the water will warm a few more degrees they will start to head shallow and start there spawning rituals.

Nicely done! I was going through my reports and April is always a good time at the Goons. It's on my list for sure in the coming days.

My report from last year at this time yielded better results but still I'm happy with the results.
