Delavan Geneva Doubleheader

Went solo to these great lakes. Started in Delly at 5am had 5 in the boat by 530but only 4 more by 930. All under 3lbs on senkos and Poppers. Fished for Pike but just a few misses on spinnerbaits had the jinx on me when my first cast of the day on a Husky jerk i lost a big fish after a brief battle. At 10am with threating skies i got off the lake and spent 45 minutes at Fontana boat launch waiting for the storm that blew by. Got out at 1130 too calm overcast conditions .....looks like it might be Agood afternoon things started out good with a decnet Smallie and a Largie on Clackin minnow in perch flavor. Wanted to hit piers with senkos and got 1 nice fish and lost a sow who was roamin in front of piers. Was having a decent hour or so , but then out of nowwhere a NE wind at 15 or 20 , wich ic not that strong but when its blowin rite in to my launch made for quick exit... there was just no plcae to hide and with my trolling battery pretty low i had no choice but to leave. If it wasnt for attendents at launch helping me i would still be thereas that wind was blowin my boat rite into launch pier.Soory no pics left camera at home but nothing really worth showing anyway. Jerkbait bite was in 7-9 feet. Thanks MATT FOR TIP on a good jerkbate product.

Mike, thanks for the report.
A buddy of mine was on Delavan today and did very well fishing 12+ feet of water fishing worms n jigs.
Sounds like they're out on their usual summer places and this year might push em there more so. Should be
an interesting summer bite!

Mike, I am glad you are liking that jerkbait. I wish I could trade some of my X-Raps in for more! Too bad you did not get to spend the whole day out there. It seems like the fish were fairly active. Anytime you can bang them on Geneva mid-day, it is a good day!

Fontana can be a pain. One year a storm kicked up, and while we did get the boat out it took a ton of water over the stern. Some huge waves were a'coming.
