needle in a hay stack

Postby Jay C » Jul Fri 20, 2012 11:50 am

So, a couple weeks ago I went out to the lagoons and had a decent little trip. There were almost too many weeds to get into my spots but I was still able to manage. Went back out yesterday and the place looked like the freakin Botanic Gardens. My little 30lb thrust minn kota was struggling to get out of the lagoon that I launched from because of all the weeds on the surface and all I have is a little bass hunter type boat. Even when I got passed all the grass, finding fish was literally like finding a needle in a hay stack. I know all the tricks such as looking for irregularities, different types of structure in one spot, etc but everything looks the same. Everywhere you look seems like bass heaven. The only point I'm trying to get at is that the lagoons probably won't see me again until all that crap dies. Anyone else feel the same way or know if anyone comes out and kills the weeds with chemicals like they do at Lake Glenview?

No they only kill the invasive plants around the water. i talked to one of the workers and thats what she said. they use a chemical that is blueish in color and brush it on the reeds.

There aren't too many weeds under the tower road bridge, as of today. The west bank is normally good for crappie, at the east bank I've gotten LMB, sunnies, and channel cats.
I came to them out of mists and rain; I came to them in dreams at midnight; I came to them in a flock of ravens that filled the northern sky at dawn; When they thought themselves safe I came to them in a cry that broke the silence of a winter wood.
