General Comments:
Lake Glenview is a fairly new lake. It is located near the area
of the old Glenview Naval Airbase. At 45 acres, there is planty
of shorefishing available. The fishing pier structure, located along
the east shoreline is a very nice spot. There are some lilypads
right behind the center "gazebo" of the piers. The narrow
south end of the lake has a nice rock-cliff wall which seems to
hold largemouth bass, walleye, northern pike, and who know what
else.
No boating allowed,
no boat rentals, no swimming, no alcohol, no grills.
Known
Species in Lake Glenview:
Largemouth bass, walleye, northern pike, bluegill, catfish, carp.

Bottom Line:
The Glenview Park District, along with the Illinois Department of
Natural Resources have done a nice job making this a sport fishery.
At this time, I have no depth information or specific stocking information
other that the fact that Lake Glenview is indeed stocked.
Lake Glenview
is a CATCH AND RELEASE only lake (except for carp) so leave the
stringers at home.
Check back soon
for more information as I will be contacting several sources for
more information. This lake should be a good one!

Tony (#1cubsfan) and
I hit Lake Glenview at about 5:30pm and fished till 8pm.
Found the largemouth
bass protecting their beds close to shore and hooked a total of
8. The largest was 18" by Tony (pic coming soon). All the other
bass were in the 15 inch range with a couple around 12".
The key was white 5"
Slug-go's and white senko's. I did have a hit on a white chatterbait
but missed it. White was certainly the key color today.
Nice afternoon of fishing
and some decent bass action!

July 10, 2005 -- Jason W. Norris
Sunny, temps in the 80's, light east wind, fished from 5pm-9pm.
My first time at Lake Glenview. The area behind the fishing piers
produced some giant carp for a couple of guys using bread as bait.
Their gear, however, could not bring these fish out of the thick
lilypads. Another angler caught 2 12"+ largemouth bass in the
south section where the rock-ledge starts using plastic worms and
nightcrawlers. I managed a few bluegills near the fishing piers
with a Rapala floater (small). I had a northern pike follow up a
Rebel jointed floater along the south section rock ledge, but missed
it.
