Beck 7-26 Retro-post

Postby minstrel » Aug Thu 29, 2019 10:22 pm

End of last month I hooked what now seems to be my last big Beck bass of the year. Ever since I've either gotten skunked or just been testing out my light setup.

However I was able to land this baby despite the at-shore weeds which took a lot of luck. I also saw a guy playing with his dog down from me and got him to snap the pic for me. Funny I though he messed it up somehow as my camera only had this blurry and slanted half picture when I looked at it. Turns out I think he hit the button when handing it back to me. I was really mad but when I loaded up my camera to take off a different picture later I saw the good pic was there, I'd not thought to swipe backwards to find it.

At 18.5 inches and quite hefty it was definitely my biggest Beck bass. It also ranges up in my probable Top 5. As I walked over to the photo guy I was thinking 'man this fish is heavy!' I don't carry my scale as the one I have works like a quarter of the time...

Nice!
Keep calm and fish on...

There's a fine line between fishing and just sitting there looking stupid

Indeed. Only three issues there: cost, transport and storage

Holy Toledo! That is a great catch, my friend. Gonna have to give you a new handle--"Beck Bass Slayer". I saw your reply about the kayak--I have the same barriers. It will be interesting to see how the late summer/early fall pattern rolls out. I am actually looking forward to September/October.
