My first stop as well, not opening day though. Too much chaos.
I'll be there a few days later.
Lo the angler. He riseth in the early morning and upsetteth the whole household. Mighty are his preparations. He goeth forth with great hope in his heart and when the day is far spent, he returneth, smelling of strong drink, and the truth is not in him.

Hope I can hitch a ride on someone's float. Can't argue with 70 degree water temps.

I'll be there for the first weekend lol.

Hoping for decent weather and some big cats or stripers.

Anybody has a go to bait?

I'm being told anything,

I.F. , chicken livers for stripers.
Not sure if I'm gonna go. Last few years the reports haven't inspired me much. Shore bound makes a big difference but if the winds are blowing in the right direction I might bust out the bike and head in down. I'm curious on how the bass population has held up.
To fish or not to fish......that's a stupid question.

I missed it last year so would like to go. I was disapointed the last few years though with the numbers and size of the bass. Before that there was a decent rebound but still nothing like the fishing there 15-20 years ago.

It's a long drive for me so I'm going to watch the reports before I head down there.

Agree with Matt. I too don't want to make the drive with numbers as they've been over the last few years.

You will definitely be able to find a bite at LaSalle. Even if you have to go to the hot pool and sort through a hundred small catfish.

I'm curious if they are still going to keep the same wind restrictions. Last year after the fatal boat accident they closed the launch down at anything over a 12 mph wind. (Which is almost always out there) I'd hate to trailer the rig all the way out there to find out the ramp is closed.

You can always shore fish. The wind restrictions are just for the boat launch. But it's a loooong walk without a bicycle.

Maybe I'll have to throw the bicycle in the boat just incase!

I forgot about my old boat slaying the fish down there! Maybe Bobba Down will take me out on her for old times sake.
