Windmill FP Geneva

Postby badger75 » Mar Thu 26, 2020 10:04 am

Stopped by last week for a quick try at some spots I like in this flow.

Found out the new bridge is open an they changed the path of the main channel and eliminated both ponds. Wow!

The largemouth that liked the one pond area will likely have to relocate.

I wonder if they shocked the water & moved them before filling things in.
Keep calm and fish on...

There's a fine line between fishing and just sitting there looking stupid

I did not see him this time. Have seen him at that location before.

They did not fill in the pond. They removed the old pathway at the north end of the island. This allows the flow to now go through that section and under the new brdge, becomming the main channel. Fish would have been able to just swim away.

Very little still water left for the LMB. Some may try to stay in the eddie at the south end of the island. I will be looking  .

It was a great place for cat and carp fishing as well.
I'll miss it.

The entire area below Fabyan park has slack water, probably slow enough for LMB and I would think they'd just move down stream. Access is along both sides of the river via the paths with limited river access throughout. You'll have to push through the grasses to get to the river. Under the old bridge was a super hot Smallmouth area, darn. Well, it'll be interesting to see what happens and what new fishing areas open up.
have a boat, 9+ ft. deep.
There's a really deep hole behind the Fabyan Pkwy. bridge pylon if you have a boat, 9+ ft. deep. The Depot pond in Batavia, while shallow in areas, may now get some more of those bass?
I'm a new user and will look forward to meeting you guys, although I have fished the Fox for 50+ years.
Love the line "Keep calm and fish on"!

Not at this spot but another near home, I did register as EAS sighting. Did not get a chance to say hello. Maybe next time.
