First encounter of the year today. flow 3500. height 12.51 both numbers are dropping fast. Tossed a 5" swim bait a few times in slack water and absolutely got crushed. Didn't take longer than 3-4 casts. Urban setting, cold stiff breeze. had an audience for a while until I beached her. Double winged grip, quickly remove the treble and she really didn't like that. Shook a few times, swam away before I could properly land her and snap a picture.

Funny thing is I was thinking about fishing Montgomery dam about this time about 5 years ago and fishing next to a dude who caught a ski on a white jig right next to me. Much smaller fish back then, not a minute later this fish slammed my line.

Sometimes I make good "lunch hour" decisions and some times I don't. Today was a good day.

Hell yea! Sounds like an awesome catch dude! My first musky encounter ever was when I was in middle school fishing with a few buddies of mine. This is around the time I met RonG back at "Horseshoe pond"! Anyway, I'm not sure where on the Fox we were fishing but we were somewhere near a bridge, and up river from the bridge my buddy was tossing a yellow twister tail on a jig, maybe 2" twister. And it got slammed. He got the ski all the way up to the shore and was trying to grab it, had his hands on it and it shook free. He was crushed haha! It was huge, but as a kit a 2' fish was a monster so I couldnt tell you the true size. It re-enforced my love of fishing because you never truly know what will be on the end of that line in the darkness.
