04/06 Fox

Postby RonG » Apr Sun 07, 2019 12:44 am

I wet a line for the first time this year and the first time since mid-December. I had more problems with Frankenfoot last December and I missed my second year in a row of ice fishing.

I headed out looking for the elusive and obtrusive FRappie. 'Haven't really done any April kayaking on the Fox, so your guess was as good as mine. But. it only took a few minutes and I had a nice green crappie on.

I moved around a bit and picked up another about half a mile away.

Only two bites, but I landed them both. Beautiful day... Beautiful river...

Looking good Ron. My wife’s Frankenfoot has had a bad 2 months but she’s coming back strong. Keep healing and catching.

Nah, you can keep it. I'm about done with that stupid thing. If you'd like, you could mount it and hang it on your wall next to your trophy bucks.

You always find them. Ever think of launching the Yak off Illinois St. in Aurora? Pick the right evening and you can listen to a free concert while you fish. June 21st has hair metal bands.

OK - I'll bite. WTF is a hair metal band? Not that I'd want to listen to anything other than the water & birds while I fish.
Keep calm and fish on...

There's a fine line between fishing and just sitting there looking stupid

Sounds cool. I've yak fished for some of the concerts in Elgin and saw Deep Purple, Carl Palmer band, Todd Rungren, some version of ELO and awesomely enjoyed Yes. For a couple of the Kansas shows I've seen in Detroit, in the shadow of the GM building, loads of boats and yaks come in on the Detroit River and anchor for the concerts.

It's a hard rock band where all the members have hair just like Donald Trump.
