Sometime last week on short notice we launched up far north on the chain (channel) to target some walleye in shallow water. The wenonah was slammed with gear batteries and bros. Orange jigs and minnows caught a lot of fish. Somewhere around my third cast I felt an unfamiliar weight. The second one was double the size, tail slapped the canoe twice and broke off. Never fished the chain but ten bucks to launch was well worth it. We finished the day in a small back channel for some pans. Very fun day and I’m excited to get back up this week before it gets wild.
