1 new reel, 1 old rod, 0 fish

So I picked up a new Shimano Sienna 2500 & paired it with my old Daiwa 7' Samurai rod. I'd honestly forgotten how good this rod is. Took it out to Busse the other day for a shakedown. Threw buzzbaits & had a number of blowups but didn't hook them.

This pairing casts great & I think it might be my preference for canoe fishing because the handle on this rod is shorter than my others. The Sienna is amazingly smooth for an inexpensive (some might say cheap) reel. If Shimano can do this with only 4 bearings their more expensive reels must be truly great.
Keep calm and fish on...

There's a fine line between fishing and just sitting there looking stupid
