Whoa, it was wicked windy out Thursday afternoon but between the warm rain the previous night and warm category 1 hurricane winds, it turned the fish on. I alternated between red/orange craw color jigs and white/chartreuse swim jigs drug on bottom. Because I was fishing on an unobstructed wind blown shoreline I went heavy on the jigs to stay in contact with the bottom. This being Urbs honey hole I sent him a short video of the white caps blowing into the small bay, it was crazy. Crazier still that they were so fired up. First decent one was 3.15 and shortly after I got my biggest of the year at 5lbs 5ozs. When things would die down on the craw colored jig, Iā€™d follow up with the swim jig and catch a few more, then rotate in a 3/4oz shad color Red Eye Shad. I was doing a slow lift and drop retrieve and that produced the 2 crappie. Biggest crappie was 14ā€¯ I love when the fall bites fired up
Thanks again Brother Urb for sharing the intel...Me thinks, I'm in love
still haven't unlocked the rest of the lake but it's always fun learning seasonal patterns, dechipering structure and finding the spots within spots. Tbc.........................
