Canoe launch at Lemont Quarries?

Postby deaddog » Sep Thu 24, 2020 9:07 am

On Google maps, I can see the official launch at the Western end of Great Lakes. But I'd like to launch at the Eastern end. It looks like there might be a way in but obviously don't want to jump off cliffs or other obstacles on the way in or out. Can I drive to the eastern end, park and leave the car, and have a relatively easy entry?

All advice appreciated on this one. Also, I'm assuming the adventure park won't be an issue since it is at the quarries south of the canal - but let me know if I'm wrong on that.

Thanks

I’m not sure if this is where you are referencing. If it is than yes it’s an easy launch and you can park there. My info is 2 years old.

A canoe would be a piece of cake there. Probably easier than the west launch because you can park nice and close.
