Crappies and Cops

Postby coyote » Mar Fri 20, 2020 1:36 pm

My old Friend Swedish Lenn, has been Fishing at Busse the last 10 days or so. He is catching Crappies. He has been checked for his liscense 3 times. The Bucketheads have been keeping over the limits, so they were called on. Great to see the Guys checking so much. Crappies were ranging 4 inches up to 10.5

"Never let a good crisis go to waste"

I told you the bucketeers would cash in on this to accelerate their poaching hauls.

Sounds like Tampier on a daily basis even before this started. Every morning there are 15-20 stacked up at the pipe on 131st st. and breaking limits with the smallest crappie anyone could possibly catch. 10 1/2 inch crappie would give these people a heart attack.

I fish another local lake out of my kayak frequently, I've been checked for a license 4 times in my entire life, I'm 56 years old.
All 4 times were last summer, same lake, as I was getting my kayak out of the water. Each time I also watched the officer walk from the lot, past people shore fishing with said buckets, to check mine. Then they went back to their squad and left.
To me it seems it's their way of saying they checked licenses, focusing on who they think will have one, and not have to labor with citations.

I guess that's one of the reasons I finally left a major metropolitan area.

Good to see the dnr sticking it to them.

Makes you wonder don't it?
Keep calm and fish on...

There's a fine line between fishing and just sitting there looking stupid

I got checked at two different locations of Busse on Thurs (I think it was). He just said "Ah as I got closer I recognized you!" the 2nd time 8) It's been pretty much daily at Busse of late. I always am actually happy they are out checking.
