6/6/21 Boating the main

Postby Busse Jim » Jun Sun 06, 2021 10:55 pm

Disappointing.

First hit was vicious, hit a fat rap in 6’ of water. Monster fish based on the weight, Big enough to snap off one of the hooks on the front treble and he was gone, I’m thinking Catfish based on the short fight. And the day didn’t get any better. 4 or 5 lite bites, pulls, and thumps, then I stuck a dink. Yea

Nothing wanted to stick today, lost two more nice hits with short fights at sunset.
Lots of casting, lure changes and spots. Beat the skunk

Did get my first decent sunset at the end, so that's something... And a tan.

Found a wide brimmed hat stuck in the railing at the launch, cleaned up nice, been thinking of buying one after the outing two weeks ago. Identify it and its yours.

That's odd Jim, I have also lost a higher than average number of fish as well this season. It's as if they just aren't hitting it as usual. :?: Also haven't caught much over the 12-13"ish range. Strange.

Given your access to the whole place and knowledge of spots it doesn't exactly give a shore fisherman much hope... :( Maybe I'll alter my plan for tomorrow...

I really think the lack of any real rain has an effect, the water is way clearer. Today looked like i had 4' visibility in most area's. altering colors and size a lot today. Didn't help :lolno:

Rambler's hat. Rambler's fish. Rambler's Busse results. You nailed a Rambler trifecta!

Wondering what a Rambler slam would be. Wait I got it. Add a trip to the governor.

PS - not my hat. Wear it in good health Jim.
Keep calm and fish on...

There's a fine line between fishing and just sitting there looking stupid

I agree the lack of rain and increase of hot days this spring hasn’t done any of the water ways any favors.
To fish or not to fish......that's a stupid question.
