And I ain't talkin' about the fishing.
Hit the water around 12:30 Thursday with my best friend. HOT! NO WIND! HOT!!!
We started with buzzbaits (so what else is new?). He moved to a frog while I figuring the bass had moved deeper, put on a jig/twister with a safety pin spinner. Paddled east of the launch & along the southern bank. Hours passed without any action. Did I mention how hot it was? I mean, jeeezzz.
Paddled across to the east bank. I tried a crankbait. Everybody was asleep in the summer doldrums. When I paddled into the little cover south of CWB I went back to a buzzbait and got the only serious hit of the day. Lost it in the weeds. Meanwhile my buddy landed a dink. He also found a dead 12" walleye in the water.
Paddled into the lee of Cormorant Island for some dinner being careful to avoid their shit bombs. Still hot. When we paddled out of the lee big storm clouds were moving in. A couple of drops fell and the wind picked up. Neither of us wanted to be on the water in a possible lightening storm so we headed in.
Keep calm and fish on...
There's a fine line between fishing and just sitting there looking stupid
