Spent a night with Billie the game plan was pike fishing at a small Lake and Geneva for a couple attempts, going over the game plan with a great old BeerImage
Started Pike fishing Monday morning got numerous pike with Black spinner 29 to 33 inch.ImageImageImageImage
Fished Geneva stupidly Monday afternoon and evening small fish galore but found some fun Smallies to play withImageImageImage
Got a few Bass under piersImage
Fished Tuesday morning Bill hammered Bass in dark i got a few tooImage
After sun up we worked piers but could find nothing bigger than 2.5lbsImage
Image
PopRs, whopper ploppers, rapalas, Chatterbaits, senkos, thanks Bill for the hospitality and fun talk if i left a Schiltz save it for me there hard to find

Great looking outing, as usual from you Yote! Nicely done. I'm hoping to be up there in the next few weeks. We'll see how that works out. Still so much going on with summer parties every weekend... I have three in the next 4 weekends! Damn people, don't they know my fishing is more important than their grad parties, birthday parties, and going away parties?

Nice lot of pike guys. And as an Old Style guy, I approve of the Schlitz beverages. Just reminds of the good ole neighborhood taverns on Western Ave, like The Leland Inn, Spyners, or even Lincoln Square Lanes.

It was a tough bite for sure , but when you look at some of the Tourney results from past weekend ......we wernt all that bad. Trying to work docks when skiers are out at 530am can be frustrating and a pain. Bill caught most of the 30 Bass or so we got i was just there to bring Bill to the fish and for the Girls on the docks to stare at. Good luck when you get up there Smally Man im sure you do well with your knowledge.

Downed many at Deerhead on Grand back in the day. Pop always had the old school beers on hand i have never let them go, love anything to do with the old days. That will never change no matter how many fancy new beers are upon us.

Great time out there. Sorry the biggest pike did not feel like sticking around in the boat long enough for a picture. That is in contrast to the one that you caught that tried to jump into the boat.

I can see why you were saying I looked like deadpool now after seeing the one pic.
Unfortunately, I dont have the healing powers and am hurting after only 2 days of hard fishing.

Nice guiding, it is amazing that you were pointing out exactly where we would catch all the fish on that game planning session pic.

Thanx for captaining, that boat catches a lot of fish.

Frickin hilarious watching that Pike try to jump in boat thats a great tape, not so funny watchin best Pike of day jump out of your hands and over side of boat. Bill sorry about the back, my boat does not exactly have very comfortable seating when we were getting a bit destroyed by some of those vessels out there , very minor league move going out there at 3pm on a 85 degree summer day. We had some weird windows, as we caught 9 Pike in a hour window with a few misses and 1 Pike in 3 other hours. 630 to 730 was a bit crazy in the boat. Where the Damm pliers?

I tried drinking that beer many many years ago. In stead of its name, we used to call it sh##s beer, because it upset our systems. Glad you can handle it. Oh yea, great catch.

Great stuff Coyote.... :D

btw - I remember every one of those bars mentioned....Lincoln / Western area and of course Deerhead was my neighborhood bar when I got older. :)
also, we used to drink Point beer up north and called them blue-bullets from the headaches we got the next day. Thanks for the post....

Always look forward to your posts Coyote...cool stuff.

FYI - I've had a challenging year.
June 6th '15 after returning from a family trip to Toronto and Niagra Falls I suffered a heart attack (95% blockage - widow-maker). A stent took care of the problem and I was very lucky - NO damage!! Eating right and excercise got me in pretty good shape til...six months to the day, Dec. 6th '15 I was diagnosed with tonsil/tongue cancer, stage 2. Eight weeks of radiation therapy (NO chemo) through Jan. and Feb. and my prognosis is good. Outside of the usual side effects/complications I feel really good although 40 lbs lighter....again I'm lucky and look forward to an all-clear in about a month or so. I mention this because I seem to recall an older post where you described an encounter with big-C an felt compelled to share.

Keep the posts coming and maybe I'll get up your way sometime as I spent some summers in the areas' smaller lakes as a kid in the sixties. Also, too bad Hamm's beer in no longer drinkable ever if it is dirt cheap, Although a recent Schlitz I tried was their original recipe and was really good....go figure. :D

Pinecone, gosh that is a tough year, so happy to hear you are doing well. I was diagnosed with base of tongue cancer stage 4 in 2005 7 weeks of radiation, followed by Chemo after Docs found it had got in my lymph nodes. This type of Cancer is happening more and more as i have said before any Dentist should be checking this on a basic cleaning. Hope the side effects are limited for you. Us old guys need to stick together, anytime you might be out this way i would love to meet you. I go to Franklin Park, Melrose once in awhile maybe ill let you know next time im out there. You are in my prayers my friend.

When I watched those commercials in glorious black & white back in the day I couldn't wait to grow up, sit by a northern lake and have a Hamms.

There are several other Hamms classics on YouTube...including one with Rocky Marciano getting in the ring with the bear. Hey, really cool about seeing the river otters...seen them in UP but not yet the DPR. :)

Hamms, that was my beer of choice for a very long time. Until they were bought out by Olympia Brewing company. Went down hill after that.

Pinecone , love the commercial. I can remember like yesterday sitting in a Tavern with Pop and i would watch those and love to stare above the Bar at the cool colored Hamms Bear on one of those wavy boards. Sat in a few on Milwaukee ave, but the one i remember the most was the old Rons Tavern on Harlem in Niles. Around 1970, God only knows what Pop was doing while i had my Coke, which was a treat back then and a bag of Oke popcorn. Rocky Marciano commercial was the best!!

I spent a lot of bucks in Rons. Some of the best food around. One of our favorite places for lunch.

Two things Ron sold were his beef sandwichs and his burgers. Both were huge and excellent. The beef sandwich was sooo big, it could feed two guys.
