I hope these haven't reached Illinois yet. Our cat hunts these on our condo balcony. He's crazy enough as it is without ingesting a hallucinogenic fungus. (When he catches one, he slips back in through our balcony door and "plays" with it in the living room or dining room before finally eating it. Sometimes this involves the cicada getting loose and flying around. Wife and daughter usually head to the nearest bathroom while I'm left to deal with the cicada, the cat, and our dog who also wants to join in the fun and chase it. Pure pandemonium.)
