Wisconsin Opener

Postby FloridaRigger » Apr Tue 30, 2019 1:15 pm

Forecast looks good this weekend. Who's planning on fishing the opener? I'm thinking about hitting one of the smaller SE Wisconsin lakes to avoid the crowds at Delly

I'll be at Delly Friday night through Tuesday morning. I think this is year 14 for the opener. Not too stoked about all the rain and cold water temps but we shall see. I may play it by ear and bounce around to some smaller lakes as well.

Did you get as much rain up there as Chicagoland did?

Have a solid group of guys heading out on an overnight backpacking trip with some lakes rivers n streams along the way in lower Wisconsin Saturday to Sunday. Hoping that rain didn’t destroy every body of water up there like it has down here!

If you go to USGS:

https://waterdata.usgs.gov/il/nwis/rt

I posted the link where it shows IL streamflow or precipitation data. Note at the top right you can change the state to Wisconsin, or any other place you would like to look.
The state map is color coded. Blue and black mean high water. Took me some time to learn how to read it and learn the navigation. If you want you can graph several years of historical data.

Thanks guys. Still pounding away at them. Fished half day today because of weather, but still 100 fish plus day. Fish of the day was a bonus walleye on a chatterbait.
