I kind of figured it would be a no-go this time too. Not sure I'll miss it if it doesn't happen, I kind of fish it only to justify the 'stamp'.

And btw the way the site shortens displayed longer links makes it look like we'd need click on that from somewhere safe: "https://www.ifishillinois.org/programs/ ... cking.html" Oh that 'cking' is from 'stocking' Nevermind. :P

Last one I fished was probably 8-10 years ago when my son was in high school. I don't keep or eat fish, so I'm happy to stay in bed and avoid the crowds nowadays.

Well, it looks like CC is indeed stocking for Fall:
Fall trout season will start at sunrise on Wednesday, October 21 at Axehead Lake, Belleau Lake, Busse Reservoir – North Pool, Sag Quarry East, Horsetail Lake and Green Lake. These lakes will be closed to all fishing from Monday, October 12, until sunrise on Wednesday, October 21. Updates will be posted on the Fishing Page. A valid Illinois Fishing License with Inland Trout Stamp is required.

I find myself feeling a little dissapointed... as I won't fish that mess with everyone on top of each other this year.

Just for the record here, most locations open this Saturday. I'm not sure why the four I mentioned are starting this coming wednesday but that's the plan. Full details here:

Since I think it's crowded if I see 1 other person fishing it's not likely I'll be participating. Hope folks enjoy themselves.

Waiting for them to announce state parks are closed...

A few days ago, I read an article entitled "35 Places to catch Covid-19". Way #1 was to visit a state park. I don't know if these ways were in rank, but the first listed way (#1) was to go to a state park.

Going to a State Park

Threat Level: 2

With wide open spaces and outdoor recreation areas, a state park may seem to be one of the safest places to visit during a pandemic. However, there are spots to watch out for as you explore your local state park. Restrooms, visitor centers, or popular attractions may be crowded, making it hard to socially distance.

"Check with the park or recreation area in advance to prepare safely, use social distancing and avoid crowded parks, wear a mask, and clean hands often," the CDC suggests. Consider visiting the state park at off-times and heading to attractions that aren't as popular.
