Idling hunting problem

Postby Williamhawk » Dec Tue 05, 2017 5:43 am

Hi,

I had idling issue and send for service center for subaru only.
After spend for est $1900 , change 2 pcs MAF sensor, oil, spark plug, gearbox oil, Diff. oil,
air filter, clean throttle body etc etc and end up tell me that I need to send for retune to slove
idling issue.

Before I do anything tuning myself, when I remove MAF sensor wire, there is engine light up but there is
no more idling problem, But when I put back the MAF sensor, within 5 ~ 10 min , the idling jump from 650 RPM to 1100 RPM. IF repeat by remove the MAF wire, the idling will stable.

My country temperture is 33 degree C.
No problem when cold start and after the engine warm, idling start to have issue.

Please help.

Thanks!

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

Simple fix: Your flux capacitor is not stable and acting up. 1.21 gigawatts is overkill for city driving. Most don't know that they can tune them down themselves. Try 1.07 for starters and adjust from there.

You're really going to screw up your acceleration if you go all the way down to 1.07, I wouldn't go under 1.12 personally

Ya, that's why it might take a little tweaking. The biggest factors are the weight of your vehicle and the obesity levels of you and your passengers. I wouldn't rule out melting down your family member with the largest ass to lighten the load. Add the bio-diesel option and put that lard to good use.

Gotta love the dickfer - it's what makes a Subaru a Subaru.
