4-23

Postby Brett » Apr Sun 23, 2017 9:16 pm

Fished noon to 5, water was 60-64. The dink males have started to move up onto the rocks/cinder blocks along the shore. I cast a jig & craw onto them, took a phone call, began to work the jig again, tungsten wasn't scraping so I set the hook and hooked my first bass of 2017, he got off at the boat. Little while later got the runt in the picture on the same jig. After that decided there must be big-bottomed lady bass cruising the deeper drop offs. Got 2 aggressive strikes out there on different presentations but no hook ups. Could have been better but I'll take it for now and be back soon.

Good to hear you at least saw some action... I was out facing an XL skunk today until I hit one on a minnow around 7p while simultaneously working a senko to calm my nerves. Glad I kept the one bobber out there stubbornly. Nice fish in the 15ish range.

It's been rough lately, hopefully it's coming around. Today's success was borne out of stubbornness and just grinding/waiting/wishing and hitting multiple locations among the crowds. After catching nada all last week (Opeka and Beck) I wasn't going home without a fight

Oh and add me to those that say you're brave to be jiggin' Lake O... it exists mainly to devour tackle most days!
