Opeka-chobee 5/13

Postby Aux Pleins » May Sat 13, 2017 5:07 pm

Bassman29 and I met after passing on two local rivers with high flow like cowards.

Bassman29 had the catch and flip going from the bow with a variety of presentations. He can add further.

I kept us out of the wind with the trolling motor on full blast half the time and wrangled some bass in between. Lost a sow going airborne, but had enough tugs to keep me satisfied.

Now to work on getting a pass for a few hours of river fishing tomorrow morning.

Looks like a good time. I'm tempted to buy that yearly pass and give that lake a go this year.

Was out Friday, only proved that it's still early, with just one dink keeping me from the skunk. :| However, I still call good times to come

Spot any spawners? I took a peak at a pond this morning but didn't see any beds. At least not with fish near them. Some good looking bass yous got there.

Nice hogs. Had a rough go out there myself today, saved it with 3 dinks back to back at twilight on a Texas rig.

Nice ones guys! Opeka-chobee!! Lol. Was a beautiful day for it. A little slow out there for me from shore. Need to throw some polyethylene down and get over to the strip.

Went back out there again this morning, threw a couple variations on the presentation that got me three quick fish at the end of the night yesterday. Went 2/5, lost some bigguns. Here is the biggest I landed.

It was great from about 9:30 until noon, light Westerly breeze, then stronger winds from northeast sent me packing as I forgot my anchor ropes and didn't feel like untangling 100 feet of 550 cord.

Was definitely a nice morning out on the s.s beef juice.
As always primarily stuck with the jerkbaits but would take breaks and pick off juveniles with a crappie magnet.
Just can't bring myself to commit to a jig in the snag infested shoreline.
odds are your catch was someones release...pay it forward

Nice work! Been considering an annual pass again. That little lake has some decent fish. Close to home too.

Nice fish and report! I'm sure the rivers will be in much better shape this coming weekend. The Fox dropped a bunch the last few days.

Beauties there. Like Ski said nice clean fish. Hope the rivers drop enough for you to get out there soon.

Definitely lost a few bullet weights out there this weekend. I have thrown a lot of football heads there too, in my experience those are significantly less likely to snag. You also could collect the errant shots of golfers and trade them back for a little help here and there.
