Opeka 3-31

Headed out for an equipment check. Wind claimed my tarp at some point this winter. Trolling motor plug replacement looks good. Water still in giant hole in ground. Trolled a chili craw for ten minutes. Threw a shaky head a dozen times. No bites. 45 out in the middle, 46 by the boat house, both temps within a few feet of surface. Feels good.

Got out for a bit this past Sunday. Forgot the sonar and water thermometer. Was able to determine by less scientific means the water is still very, very cold. Threw a red trap, a spinner-bait, a jerkbait, a shakey head. Had a tap on the jerkbait, nothing else. Did see a dink taken on another jerkbait. Probably won't be out again for a few weeks with the move, might see more action next time.

A trip out to Opeka Friday was what led to me taking time off to clear my head...

I hung dangling nightcrawlers under bobbers and couldn't even get anything to nip the dangling portion off! Skunked on nightcrawlers. Oh the indignity! :)
