we got off to a good start for 2021; a little too good. in fact, if it were still 2020, i would be really suspicious but seeing as how that bitch is in our rear view, i'm going to let this mojo ride.
it's been too long since i posted my best friend on here. what a fine way to spend NYE. he's in his prime now. just locked in every hunt, every bird. South Dakota is a GO for 2021.
on to the fishing. conditions were sloppy and wet. the ice was 3-4 inches everywhere i drilled but running to flags got you soaked from the waist down. flag action was pretty much nil in the early goings but the pan fish bite was really hot. #3 gold tungsten jig tipped with a waxy produced non-stop action.
to make it interesting, the crappie even started to steal all the bass food.
i sent dad home with a little lunch for the bears game. looks like the fish fry ended up being the highlight of that event.
i have a theory that on an overcast day, when the sun finally pokes its head out, the largemouth do as well.
