Slab Crappie!!! and a Catfish-- Early Ice

Postby Fish Sleep Repeat » Jan Tue 02, 2018 6:57 pm

Video Link of of me Ice Fishing: https://youtu.be/CsfJ2mUT58k

Caught a lot of nice crappie and a channel catfish on a forage minnow(jigging spoon) by northland fishing tackle and fiskas tungsten fire tiger jig
For bait I used minnows and wax worms
It was super cold out but it was worth it

Nice going, those looked like some really light bites, did your buddy do as well?

Are those some kind of parasite on the cat? Looks like you kept it, I would have hesitated to even touch it...

Young cats sometimes have spots.

yes the bite was slow and light the crappie seemed very hesitant on grabbing my lures even when i marked many fish on the vexilar. Also that catfish doesn't have any parasites, instead when a catfish is young(Juvenile) it tends to have spots on it and later on the spots begin to leave. The catfish tasted great, as well as the crappie :) Also my friend(Dad) only caught 6 crappie with the bite being slow and my dads friend only caught one
