05/12/18 Solid carp.

POst reports from those private lakes and ponds. No need to give up the location. Sometimes just knowing they're biting in a region can be a help to others.

05/12/18 Solid carp.

Postby CatsAndCarp » May Mon 14, 2018 1:00 pm

Was out fishing for carp on 05/12. Had been fishing for over an hour without any bites when the drizzle quickly turned into a downpour with some lightning strikes that were too close for comfort. I left all my stuff where it was and went running to my car for cover. Once it passed through I thought about packing up and heading home, but the brief downpour was enough to get water flowing in through a pipe and I figured it was a good time to potentially get a hit. About two minutes after casting out a doughball this guy hit. A little under 34" and put up an excellent fight.

I'm guessing that dough ball he said he cast out, but maybe that's just me. :P

Congrats and way to stick it out. Great when they bite however ya gotta love the scream of the drag when you accidentally snag one!

Good catch and if you brought it in on the rod behind you I bet it was a pretty good time.
