Fished Salt Creek for a couple hours the other day - caught 2 dinks.
On my way out I ran into a guy who upon seeing my gear, asked what I caught there. I told him, "mostly dinks - chubs, bluegills & bass".
He told me he was "really into" fly fishing & he thought he'd go get his gear and try to catch some trout (GFL). I asked him what weight rod he used. He said, "Um, I think it's medium". Oh - OK.
I asked where he usually fished. He said he taught a survival class in Wyoming. I asked where. He said they fly into Casper & then go to a town called, "Land something". I figured he meant Lander but didn't tell him. I asked what range they went into. He didn't know.
Might be me but I doubt I'd be interested in taking a survival course from someone who doesn't know where the fuck he is or who says he's into fly fishing but doesn't know what weight rod he has or thinks he's going to catch trout in Salt Creek.
The world is just full of knuckleheads.
Keep calm and fish on...
There's a fine line between fishing and just sitting there looking stupid
