There are seemingly endless amounts of rivers, creeks and their tributaries throughout northeast Illinois.

Took the new reel out for a spin on the ol' creek. This purchase completes my ultimate skinny water setup, even if I am throwing flies too big for the rod. Scott fiberglass 3wt. Abel click and pawl... USA!!! USA!!!

Panfish popper is all you need in creeks. No need to go sub surface for the smallies.

Rock bass were not as abundant...which came as a pleasant surprise. Generally go 10 to 1 rockies to smallmouth.

Dozen or so smalljaws today and only 3 red eyes.

Squirrels were having an absolute blast dropping acorns on my head. I enjoyed it less so.

These things sure give the noodle rod a workout.

This guy above shot under my damn legs and I had to pull a roundhouse kick style maneuver to get my line situation straightened out.

Fun times as always.

Pinch your barbs down boys and girls. Had I not I would have struggled with unhooking quite a few fish today.

You wont lose any that you wouldn't have otherwise.

I promise you.

Just finished laying cement outside my basement door in an effort to stop some minor seepage. I'm soaked to the skin with sweat. Does't feel much like Fall.
Keep calm and fish on...

There's a fine line between fishing and just sitting there looking stupid

Looks like some good ol' creek fun. Is that a wooden knob on the reel? Looks nice.

I am losing precious days. I am degenerating into a machine for making money. I am learning nothing in this trivial world of men. I must break away and get out into the mountains to learn the news. - JM
