Ventured through the cheddar curtain for the weekend to spend Easter with family. Of course with the weather I had to get out, so Saturday morning the car was was loaded for some creek fishing. Hit 4 different locations, first around 7:00 am. activity in the water but no fish landed at my first stop. I'vs caught fish in the location previously so I was a little disappointed, but its quiet and the scenery is beautiful. Worked the powerbait 3" chigger craw on the bottom, gulp minnows ticking the bottom and higher in the water, no takers.
Next two spots I hit produced using the powerbait 3" chigger craw in green pumpkin. Texas rigged with the weight pegged to keep them on the bottom. total of 7 fish landed with a couple more misses. these two were the biggest in the group. the 1st one was caught right at the edge of a bridge in some pretty slack water. 2nd was caught right on the edge of some faster water as it comes over the rocks. Great day to be out!
