Hobie Compass

Was hoping since these are now out there might be some feedback on the new Compass model. There are a number of reviews out that talk them up but has anyone had them out on Lake Michigan yet and compared them to the outback?

I don’t own one but I’m pretty sure the 2018 model does not come with the Mirage 180 drive. Although a 180 drive will fit in it. I think they are a bit smaller than the Outback and a different hull design. Pretty sure the seat is different too.

I did purchase a 2017 Revo 13 this year. I will say this. The Mirage drive is a game changer but I would not want it without the ability to reverse.

There is a Hobie forum, much like this site. On that site there is a thread discussing the pros and cons of the Compass.
Here’s the link. https://www.hobie.com/forums/viewtopic. ... it=Compass

Thanks Joe, I added the link to my favorites. I have seen some offering the Compass with the 180 drive on e-bay so looks like reverse is doable.
