2018 water usage stamps

Postby Rambler » Jan Sat 27, 2018 1:11 pm

I stopped at the DNR table at the Schaumburg show & asked about the situation regarding registering canoes & kayaks in 2018. At last year's show they told me that stamps wouldn't be necessary in 2018.

Turns out the numbnuts in Springfield still haven't done anything about this (or much else). According to the guy I talked to they're talking about eliminating stamps as of July 2018 but so far it's only talk.

So you'll need a stamp if you intend to use your craft before July. Considering this is Illinois we'll probably need stamps after July too...

Strange that they would eliminate a source of income. Maybe the canoes and kayaks were not generating enough to justify the costs but that's seldom enough reason either. I just know it was a joke trying to do this at Dicks when they first switched over.
Making a point to not let fish interrupt my fishing.

^^^Threeats- I suppose some beancounter figured out the cost of administering it outweighs the revenues. If I'm right it shows how freakin' stupid legislators are that they haven't done anything.

Joe- yep; sorta knew that.
