The Black Place

Just cleaning up some albums. During one of my dozens of trips to hike NM I finally hunted down Georgia O'Keeffe's Black Place that caught her eyes for some time. Spread the barb wire and went in for a stroll.

From a ways off and how most people see it if they even do. I sure passed it by dozens of times without taking much notice. Even this was taken inside the wire. It's only when you get in deep under good light that you see what drew O'Keeffe. " A mile of elephants" and “Such a beautiful, untouched lonely feeling place, such a fine part of what I call the ‘Faraway’. It is a place I have painted before . . . even now I must do it again.”

Making a point to not let fish interrupt my fishing.

Stunning shots!
Keep calm and fish on...

There's a fine line between fishing and just sitting there looking stupid
