Eclipse

I didn't intend to shoot it as I did not have any solar film to put over my lens. Shooting the sun with camera can incinerate your retinas and you can fry the sensor on your camera easily. Think magnifying glass and ants. There was one point where you could not see the sun it was so cloudy so I was able to get some shots, then keep shooting adjusting the exposure. Basically using the last shot as a guide. Since I didn't plan this at all I was happy to just get a few shots.

This is kinda cool.
I cropped the bejesus out of this one, just so you can see the surface of the sun and moon. Pretty cool. I am going to have to get some solar film and play around with this.

So cool! Thanks.
Keep calm and fish on...

There's a fine line between fishing and just sitting there looking stupid

Well done. I still have a 3x3 Kodak filter around someplace from the 60's for that

My friend went down south to shoot it in totality and he sounded delirious with astonishment. I watched last night shot in Madras Oregon, I wil try to find a link. It was incredibile. Next opportunity to see it in totality in the US I will be there.

I didn't even get to see that much, it was to cloudy by me. And it started to rain when I was out on my deck waiting for it.

Waiting for 2024!

Apparently you only need to wait 7 years. And no need to travel too far either.

You guys missed it ?!?

One of the best days of my life... I don't have a decent phone or camera (or solar filter) for good pics. We weren't going to take any pics, but my kids decided to snap a few with their phones.

My son kept getting this weird effect when using his iphone. A secondary, smaller image of the still-partial eclipse appeared on many photos.

I spent half my money on fishing, gambling, alcohol, women and billiards. The other half I wasted.
