That pond is the nastiest pond to fish! I use to fish there when I was younger. The last time I went the was so much garbage and empty bait containers everywhere and in the pond! It's a shame what happened to that pond. . The last time I went to just look at it some old timer had 2 catfish bout 16in.

Fished it twice this year with no luck....agree on the garbage comment. Tons of bucket heads and also old guys cat fishing. They were all staring at me like i was an idiot for fishin Bass. Maybe i was....perhaps they ate them all! lol. Wont ever return there, there are tons of better lakes around.

It's traditionally been a good place to bring kids to fish for catfish and bluegill, both of which are stocked annually. That's about all you'll find there. Haven't heard a bass reported from there in a very very long time. That's not to say there aren't a couple... anyone have any feedback on that?

There are so many better places to fish with in a few miles of the pond.

Instead of fishing schiller, walk about a mile and fish the dpr. Loaded with Northern!

I fished the place as a kid too, remember catching small gills and bass occasionally, my father said he did nail a 21" bass there, but that was 10 years ago haha.

Believe it or not I hit Schiller a couple weeks ago just to see how it looked and we really hAd no time to go anywhere and on the first cast my brother nailed a 12" LMB my jaw dropped and I was speechless. He got it on a very small jointed rapala. Well I guess we can't say that there arn't any bass left lol

LOL. You mean where it's 6' instead of 5.5'? Haha, I always thought it would be deeper there for some reason. I caught a bass several years ago wasn't very big though.

Yea that half an inch difference can be deceiving. I almost died drowning in a pond once.....then i stood up and realized it was a foot and a half deep lol jk jk....The depth seems a little more obvious then on the other side for some odd reason.

Schiller Pond,,,,, built in 1960 for recreation.. the two adjacent sledding hills, one is on the south side of irving, were the left over soil and clay from the pit.. Seen a buckethead in july walking across cumberland back to his car at like midnight, he was carrying two wire baskets of channel cats. Probably had 12-15 cats in the two baskets... I hate to see what else he has in his freezer
