Bode Lake fishing?

Has anyone fished Bode Lakes? They seem so small but both have a little depth, especially Bode south. I've heard good things in the past, but don't really know.

I have been to Bode a few times because it is close the house. Fishing is not that great. If you want to catch some fish Harrier lake (pratt wayne woods) is the way to go. That is my go to lake. 59 and sterns west on sterns. The lake is pretty choked but there are a few areas that are open enough to fish and the fish are there. Send me a PM if you need to know exactly where to fish on the lake. Just watch for the ticks.

Now that I have to pass Bode a few times a week for work I am going to be stopping there more. The easy access is a huge plus for me, as I usually will only have 30-60 minutes a night there. Water is a bit murky but there isn't a ton of vegetation to contend with, and the dropoff seems pretty quick.

Seen plenty of jumpers (and a turtle periscoping outta the water) in the two most recent trips (both at sunset), but have failed to hook anything. Thrown out senkos, jighead with a grubs and my Jitterbug. This was the place my dad took my brothers and me all the time when were kids. Can't really recall catching anything of note there, but at least there is the notstalgia factor for me now.

I will say, however lackluster the fishing may or may not be, this place is usually hoppin busy. Tons of people with bobbers in the water, families having picnics, there is a bike trail through the preserve...even saw some border collies going for a swim tonight.

I used to live real close to there too, and actually caught my very first bass there last year - a 8" largemouth, right where the north lake goes back into poplar creek. I've caught a handful of bluegill there too, nothing to write home about, all on crawlers.

Yea I've fished Bode Lakes well over a dozen times and I've only caught 2 bass. the bigger one was probably 8 inches.
I posted something about those lakes a few months back and a guy said he had good success with flukes on the back lake.
I think it was a fluke he caught anything out of that lake.
Dont waste your time.
Buckheads go there to get baby fish for there similac. Kids gotta eat too!!!
