Is it legal to launch your own boat there or is it rental only? Those are some solid bass.

It's supposed to be rental only. But with no enforcement, Wictor911 has been pounding the bass outside the second
weed line. Been fishing at Maple forever, I know the deal. New boathouse is open, but for a couple years nobody cared
who launched what. I'm not saying anything bad about Wiktor, it's all good until it's not. In fact, I started throwing a lot
of chatter baits based on his reports and been successful. But basically, Maple Lake sits in a huge bowl of trees and has
been a very early or very late bite lake. To be really successful, you have to fish outside the second weed line, thus
requiring a boat.

Yes/No... people had their own kayaks there too that day or you can rent a boat and bring a trolling motor/battery. The weeds aren't bad since they killed off the majority of them. They do every year. You can do well all over the lake. There's a map Of the lake with all the depths and counters, etc... I do well off drop offs next to shallow water. there was at lest 15 watercraft on the lake. Most pleasure boating and a few fishing. I'm not the only one with their own water craft there. Take a chance and most importantly be respectful.
