Tampier on Form

Postby Wolfnight » Oct Thu 24, 2019 8:51 am

Fished Tampier for 4 hours yesterday on the peninsula off the concrete slabs into the deep water. Wind 10mph SW direct in my face. Water temps 52 degrees. Fished long pole and European Night-crawlers. Caught 12 carp (biggest 5lb), 3 channel catfish (biggest 2lb), 3 white bass and 1 largemouth (just over 1lb). All caught and released. Total weight 17 kilo (37 1/2 lbs in old money). One of my best days of the year on this challenging lake. Tight lines all.

Wow, nice multi species outing! I kind of wish you would've kept the carp though...

I've Fished Tampier for 30 years. Just an awful lake to fish, with such giant fish swimming in there. I've caught some descent bass over the years, and 2 walleye, but the shad population has those fish lockjawed. Carp and catfish are in there, along with a population of 8+ pound largemouth, 40 inch pike, and a walleye population that the county/state uses for its stocking program. Chris
