Tampier was just discussed here recently. Some swear by it, others wont touch it. A drive to Braidwood, Shabonna or the Kankakee River probably would be a better bet.

Holy crap, Homer Glen has a lot a lakes and ponds. You could spend a couple years scouting out all those on the map. I like doing google earth searches and recon on new lakes. I’ve spotted 3 this winter near where I live that look fishy. I’ll drive by and scope it out, find out if I’ll have to Ninja fish or just park and fish like I own the place

Welcome to the area. I have been South side for 25 years, a Forest Preserves guy (for my sins!). Tampier is a very tough nut to crack but the best lake in the area if you can figure it out. Great to see you are catch and release, this will serve these lakes well as they can get fished out. Tight lines.

Careful guys. I suspect the OP is a spammer. If not, welcome to the site.

Lemont Quarries is a good place to check out. The Dupage River around Shorewood is a nice wading river for smallmouth. There are a lot of good subdivision ponds around so I would investigate any that are close to you.

I do not hear good things about Tampier. Do you have a boat or kayak?

Plenty of bank access at the quarry lakes, search on here for good info.

But expect things to change once the adventure park opens...

I'm going to head out to this area today and see what the story is.

There are a few bodies of water that are under the "Lemont Quarry" umbrella plus the DPR is all around.

I'm going to check it out on foot and them bring the kayak if it's worth it.
