boats rentals are $35 for half day. From 6am-12 or from 12-6 from Grey Beards.

most of the shore fishing takes place down the middle of the lake on the dike. most popular being near the bridge.

George, you will do well there. Lots of the tactics I have seen you use for bass and panfish in the Chicago River will work for the white bass, hybrids, and smallies at Heidecke. Heidecke is a strange lake, as it turns on and off really fast. Play the wind, find the shad, match the shad, and you will catch fish. If you get out there in a boat George, the best fishing is usually on the North end under the bridge. Augy covered the boat rental, which also has bait for sale. Some of the best fishing can be on days when boats are not even out. When the lake is whitecapping and busting up against the rocks, the gamefish will not be far behind crashing shad. George, feel free to shoot any more questions. I am no expert on that lake, but I will try my best to answer them.

I've done well working the bank near the out-house. I believe the out-house is near the second turn after the bridge. Mostly hybrids on chicken livers. Occasionally a cat/carp/walleye. Haven't done much boat fishing on the lake so I couldn't tell you much in that regard.
