It's football season - New PB SMB

I fished a small flowage in Northern Wisconsin last month looking for Pike and Smallies. We had fished it earlier in the year for pike and I swear I spotted a giant smallmouth cruising the shoreline. With that in mind, we brought the smallie gear along and targeted shallow wood and docks. I was hoping for some nice fish but didn't expect these tanks!

That is awesome. In northern Wisconsin so many are focused on walleye and musky, the smallies can go overlooked. Some flowages will have shallow fish in along shorelines all year. One of the few things I have learned watching Gillepsie. Glad you cracked your pb!

yep, I'm lucky he didnt take me under the dock! Catching smallies is a blast on a 7ft ML St Croix Eyecon rod. I run 10lb 832 braid to 8lb Trilene XL mono leader.

for sure, they do good management for trophy fish on many of the lakes. there's great largemouth fishing up there as well if you can avoid the toothy critters.

Feels like 2001 with the comeback wins and quarterback carousel. They'll finish 13-3 losing to the Packers twice and Tom Brady

I believe it was a green pumpkin finesse TRD on a 1/16oz jig. I also use the TRD ticklerz and hogz. For swimbaits I use the Keitech swing impact fat
