If someone told you to look around the trails of Silver Springs State Park they wouldn't be leading you astray. Also, if anyone asks, that person was not me. 8)
I am in Kane county. There are all over the place here. God planted these in my backyard (probably via some birds). I had some raised beds I no longer planted/tended. One day I am checking the back yard and I see a whole bunch of new canes growing. I now encourage them for the last 5-6 years.
I see them all the time in FP's in the area along the bike paths. They thrive in the long grass with good sun or any open areas not regularly mowed.
We had a sweet old lady down the road from us who used to make the sweetest blackberry wine. She passed a few years back, but man I'll never forget the taste.
