Kish 6/9

Do you fish the Kish?

Kish 6/9

Got on late morning. Got off dinner time.
Brought 2 fly rods 2 spinning rods and a jug of water.
Few bites early, mid day slow (typical of kish when suns out), fishing picked up again later in the afternoon.
Boated 9 green bass. Missed a few. Missed one pike.
Only casualty of the day was a hand ended up with a treble hook fully hidden in my finger.
Couldn't get it out with hard tugging so cut the hook and just left it in the finger.
The next hour sucked paddling and fishing with hook in finger but still managed a couple more fish.
After about 10-15min of work when back at vehicle with pliers and a pocket knife managed to get the hook out. Have to admit I was queasy for a few minutes.

Live and learn that's 3rd buried hook in the last year will probably start carrying a net all the time.
Nothing worse than the panic situation when your hand is hooked to both you and the head of a thrashing fish.

Few pics of green bass, couple nice ones after my accident I didnt bother with camera.
Caught fish anywhere from 10-16"

nice smallies. they have a unique color pattern there. not the camo, not brown, not the light green with white belly. just pure olive.

I once fully stuck a treble in my leg which was connected to my golf bag. had a fun time hoping around on one leg while my buddy attempted to remove it and took multiple pictures for every social media outlet

x2. Staying out with a hook in you and doing your own surgery sounds like some Rambo stuff. Nice work.

Some nice size to those. Way to stay at it with a hook in your finger.

While hand landing a pike a few years back in Canada I got a treble hook from a Suick buried deep in my finger with the pike thrashing on the other end...not fun, we were both hooked at the same time. That's pretty hardcore sticking it out, and it paid off with a few more fish, lol.

When you said green bass I assumed large mouth. Yikes with the treble in the finger, what is causing this irresponsible behavior with you man? Never trust a fish....

No choice but to stick it out wasnt close to the van so jist drifted and fished my way downstream. Just need to carry my medical kit with me forgot to this trip. Aside from stupidity was fun day didnt see one person any structure all day enjoyed the isolation. Occasionally id hear farm equipment and cows humping but that was about it.

Doesn't get me out of mowing the lawn or doing dishes wife shows no mercy. Play and you pay she says...now you know how the fish feel I hear.

Quality skinny water bass nonetheless.... my woman is just the same, god forbid I come down with the flu or a fever because that's when my chore list seems to explode.

I'm not a doctor but I played one with the girls once upon a time . I hope you sterilized that wound both inside and out with some medicinally indicated alcohol. Your choice of type, dosage as needed.

Way to play tough and same deal, no sympathy on the home front if I get hurt while playing .
