This site has got the slows

Postby Rambler » Nov Wed 11, 2020 8:14 am

Usually login on my tablet. Lately I've noticed it has gone dog-ass slow. Tablet's pretty new so to test things I logged in on my PC. Still slow so it must me the site. Don't have any issues with other sites.

Anyone else noticed this?

Very slow for me too. Slower than Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's heartbeat these days.

Strange what you think is humorous Ron.

You need to stop trying to shape others' opinion of me with all your "you must be off your meds" comments, etc. WCFers can make up their own minds. You are 83% on your way to becoming the next Big Saw. Nobody, except for big tobacco and all-you-can-eat buffet owners, ever liked Big Saw.

Ron, Regale us about Big Saw. An infamous member I presume? The boards are slow this time of year we could use your funny take of days gone by on various boards, colorful characters, fishing stories and amusing threads.

Hope everyone stays healthy and has an enjoyable Thanksgiving.

Big Saw was a cruel man and internet bully.

He made CLF his home, but once I made a negative comment about him on WCF and he popped up instantly, so I guess he was a member here too.
There's a lot written about him in Rambler's 'CLF - A Missle for the ages' thread.

Big Saw's mistake was to take unrelenting aim at me and a few friends. It did not go well for him. Our tenacity won out and he died a lonely, hollow and bloated man. He vanished without a sound and was deemed not worthy to get a mention in the R.I.P. Greg Lake thread which is reserved primarily for music artists. Some argued that his belching and farting made him a fishing musician, but I dissented. The man could not fish.

This site is definitely slower for me too. Noticeably slower than other websites.

Geez Ron - I had no idea you were so thin skinned. But if you actually take my ribbing seriously I apologize.

Sort of reminds me of Erik - AKA EAS. He PMd me years ago to tell me my comments about his altered photos were offensive. For some reason he didn't get that my comments about how the photos made me have flashbacks to '68 were in jest. I told him to lighten up & explained that folks my age always kid about flashbacks - although in my case I've got ample reason to have them.

Finally someone else posted about EAS' unsportsmanlike behavior on a local stream - really called him out on it. He was offended & gathered up all his marbles & went home. I believe he even went to the extent of having Jason remove all vestiges of him from the site.

Let's hope you don't follow in his footsteps.

I have no marbles to gather as they are long lost and I'm never going home.

Ron vs Big Saw and Local Yokel is Chicago fishing internet history lore. Come on Rambler, Batman needs his Joker. Why so serious?

Wait - and you're worried about me influencing how WCFers view you? Hmm... :D
