Those were the days

Postby Rambler » Mar Mon 23, 2020 10:24 am

Spending some of my virus time decluttering my office. I found 8 3-ring binders full of old 35mm slides so I'm digitizing them.

Found this one - brought back some great memories. Bears were playing the Pats in '79. Sweetness was warming up.

It's always a shock to see the size difference in players from earlier eras. They were big dudes, but they still looked human. Even the linemen!

41 years later and they are looking mighty fine.

I'm pretty sure that's Ronnie James Dio on the far left. He always was the short one.

Of course. But it'll cost you. What's it worth to you? :D

Takes me back to one of my brief close calls with fame. I appeared in the May '79 issue of Playboy. We were holding up a big sign at a game that said, "The Honeybears do foldouts, the Bears just fold". I got calls from friends all over the country on that one.

Yes, except one time I stood fairly close to Sweetness & had an OMG moment when I realized his biceps were about the size of my thighs.

I remember those glory days of the Bears. Pretty sure a set of downs went like this. Payton,Payton,Payton ,punt. If there happened to be yards gained that was called back by a holding penalty on #65 Noah Jackson.

You forgot when Jim (Slo-Mo) Avellini tried to run out of the option. Then they punted.

I don't follow football much, but has Joe Namath always talked like a sausage like he does in his deceptive scam Medicare Advantage ads they run every 7 minutes on TV?
