Went out on 6/7/19 at 8am till 12pm, first tried getting a topwater bite while also trying to cover open water with a chatter bait. Had no luck unitil I switched my baits to a slower presentation, and used a jig. Was seeing a bunch of bass cruising by the weeds near shore and where not interested in fast moving baits so I decided to toss the jig and boom caught me a nice solid bass. My estimate in weight was prolly just over 3 pounds and is one of the bigger bass I have caught at this lake. Overall tough short outing but was happy to catch this pig after not fishing Axehead for Almost two years.

Beauty!

I've seen some bigguns cruising the Axe but never latched onto one.

There's bigger perch in there than that bass.

Nice work coaxing a pig out of that location. It remains to me a cursed place, the land of the skunk. :(

I've even fished a handful of spring trout openers and not caught anything. I still have no fish-on-line confirmation there are fish in that place
