First outing of 2011, first fish of 2011

Hope this trend stays consistent.

Headed out to Lake Arlington this afternoon, the weather was far too nice not to.

The lake is still about 85-90% ice but a good majority of the fingers is soft water. Threw a lipless crank, bluegill pattern, exclusively. Presentation varied from yo-yoing, ripping, and burning. I love this time of the season, when power fishing is at its prime!

Ended up with this guy; he completely crushed the lure and gave a great fight.

It sure did feel good to have the pull of a bass on the line after hibernation!

Wow can't believe you got one from LA this early! I can't wait to hit it, my friend and I focused on LA last year and now I feel pretty confident there. Did he fight?

I spent half my money on fishing, gambling, alcohol, women and billiards. The other half I wasted.

No worries pal! I love fighting fish on my medium, fast action crank rod; best fights ever.

Nice to see a largie picked up! Even more interesting when you can get it on a lake that is still almost all ice. Nice report.
To fish or not to fish......that's a stupid question.
