Anyone ever tried fishing Longjohn slough? It's in willow springs same neighborhood / area as Maple lake, Bullfrog, Joe's Pond. There's always heavy lillypad cover through most of the bank. seems like a nice place to try topwater lures.
really? I thought that was just for crawdad right across the street from there. The fishing in those 2 places then must either be really good due to no pressure or really bad since they probably don't bother to stock them.
You can park in the end of the Maple Lake East and hike in to LJS if you really want to "ninja fish" but
you'd be an easy target for the CCFP police on your way back. LJS is part of the Little Red School House
nature preserve.
Crawdad has been bone dry or frozen solid so many times there aren't even any wading birds trying for
lunch. About all it's good for is hockey in the winter. In time it will dry up and become a marsh just like
what used to be small lakes you drive by on the way to the 104th. That area is my home turf and I've
watched it happen over the last 40 years.
Been of limits to fishing for as long as I can remember. And that's a long time.
