Those guys have been friendly to me. I've been aggressively harassed by beavers in the kayak. One guy liked to swim right up to my yak, in my blind spot, and do big tail slaps and splash me. Scares the crap out of you when you don't even know the buck-toothed freak is even there.
That, in my opinion, is some of the best part of kayaking

PM me, I did a ton of scouting on some fairly decent public land and got a 130bc 8 pointer once... Granted it's been years but I'd know exactly where to go if I got back into it in IL? Scouting is 70% of the work.Scipio24 wrote:but have no IL connections.
